Many thanks to all who have decided to open The Reading Room for drinks on Christmas day. (The Bell will be closed all Christmas day and all Boxing day).

Great idea: many thanks. I knew somebody would come to our rescue!!

(I think the opening hours are 11.30 to 1.30 - but Bill England is the one to ask.)

My son came across tyres and wheels on the Radstone Rd. several weeks ago. The car in front of him hit one. The car driver and my son, (who was on his motorbike), stopped and cleared them from the road. They threw them into the back of the verge/ ditch at the time, to avoid any further collisions. They may be the same ones, not sure?

(323) Thankyou to everyone who came, helped,& donated to my open day on Thurs 13th October. French Fancy & Suga Kandi jewellery stores were a huge hit, Thankyou Angela, and Julia for coming.

I had a great day, catching up with friends and neighbours over coffee, tea, bubbles & wine!! More importantly we raised 212.50 for Katharine House Hospice, which I will forward in memory of our lovely Irene. Just shows what can be achieved, when a few ladies get together for fun and chit chat ,on a Autumn Day in October!!

Many thanks Wiggy.

It's a sad business. I saw the church for the first time the other day and it's so gorgeous - and in such a lovely setting.

Oh dear.

Radstone Church has suffered from the effect of bats for many years. Unfortunately they are a protected species and, although we have asked if we may relocate them, we are not allowed to. The mess they make is such that it has become impossible to clean, and as the colony thrives the problem worsens. We were hoping to hold Radstone's Patronal there in September but have been told that it is unsafe to do so as the mess is a health risk. The service was held at Helmdon. Cleaning would involve wearing protective clothing and masks and needs to be done professionally. This decision caused much sadness but we have not given up trying to find a solution

I'm interested to find out more about Radstone Church

Can anybody please tell me when the church was closed - and why?

I realise that is has been taken over by bats....but did they come before the church was closed or afterwards?

Thanks.

We will be holding a Macmillan coffee morning at Helmdon Primary School on Friday 30th September between 10 and 11.30am.
Please join us to support this worthwhile cause.
The children will be sharing the puppets they have made from A Midsummer Night's Dream during the coffee morning.
If we have any cakes left we will sell them in the playground at the end of the school day (3.15pm)

Looking for grass livery for my easy going 24yr old, 15.2hh retired Irish mare around the Helmdon area. Ideally a private/small quiet yard as she's looking for a peaceful retirement!

Would appreciate any recommendations as new to the area.

Thank you!

Ad hoc help with dog sitting / walking?

Hi everyone, my partner Tim and I have recently moved to the village and are looking for a reliable & experienced dog lover to help us occasionally with our gorgeous, gentle old greyhound Maggie. For the odd time we are both away at work to let her out in the day for a comfort break / short 20 min to walk if happy to do so. Please let us know anyone you would recommend in the area. Thanks so much in advance! Please call 01295 760440.

Does anyone know who owns the sheep behind The Bell. One is badly injured and can hardly walk. I'd like to let the farmer know if possible
