My name is David Beesley of Stretton,Warrington,Cheshire.During a recent clear out of my garage i came across an amount of legal documentation that i aquired at auction in Manchester many years ago. Most of it refers to the purchase of land around Glebe farm for the extension of the Manchester,Sheffield and Northampton Railway dating from 1894 and thereabouts.Much reference is made to Jeffery Tredwell of Bacon House,Finmere and also an interesting lovely handwritten abstract of title referring to Joseph and William Painter.Do you know of any descendants of these people who may still be in the area ?.I would be happy to pass on these approx 15-20 documents for a donation to Macmillan Nurses.

Vincent would like to thank all the people of the village for their generosity at Judy’s funeral. The final amount comes to £1,033 which was extremely good of everyone. This will be shared by the Hospice at Home and Marie Curie organisations and will be presented by Mr Martin Humphries of the funeral directors.

We seem to be hearing a lot through the grapevine about the campaign of thieving currently blighting the village, maybe an idea to get the neighbourhood watch folks to call a meeting so that we could consider how we could jointly make our village less attractive as a target?

Just a thought.

Had our turn for a pikey visit on Saturday night while away visiting friends. The thieving scumbags stole my Ifor Williams GD105 trailer, the 115hp outboard off the back of my boat, kids quad bike, chain saw and I later realised also the petrol strimmer.

They smashed down the neighbours fence and pushed the trailer across a paddock to the bridle path so more than one person involved (well if it was only one person I sure don't want to meet him on a dark night!!)

I would be very interested to hear from others who have been targeted in the village as it sounds like we are getting a lot of attention!!!

I think people need to think carefully about what is more important. Trying for sustainable energy, or running out of fuel in the near future...

We live at 65 Wappenham Road and just discovered today (7th May) that someone has come over the fields to access the back of our garden and stolen a chain saw, strimmer and petrol can from garden sheds. Wondered if anyone else has had a similar break-in? Be extra vigilant. I have crime no. from Northants police if you need to report anything
