Exchange between John de Catesby, John Brokhampton clerk, and William Brook; and: John Masthrop de Helmdon, and William Page of Radstone whereby the first mentioned parties grant the latter parties four ½ acres of land called 'Cotland' in Astwell and F., which they have from John Brook of Astwell (described), in exchange for 2 acres of arable land which Masthrop and Page hold from John Hancok of Falcutt, in Astwell (described). Both are warranted, and are to be held by the usual services.

Grant and confirmation from John Hetheryngton clerk, Thomas Huntyngdon and Rober Aleyn to: John de Catesby, John Stotesbury, and John Brook and his heirs, of Astwelll of 6s annual rent from one messuage and one virgate of land with appurts., which John Rous holds in Falcutt, and 6s annual rent from one messuage and one virgate of land with appurts., which John Hancok holds in Falcutt, together with both their services, and also four shares of meadow in the south meadow of Astwell and 1 piece of meadow called 'Rondychesbregge' and 7 acres of land in Astwell, (described) and one cottage lately called 'Kobbers' with curtilage and 3 roods of land adjoining, the whole of which they had from John Mathew of Astwell. Usual services owed to chief lord. Witnesses: Mathew Swetenham, Thomas Campworth, John Stotesbury of Whitfield, William Selesby, John Calen.

Monks Kirby) to Arthur Brooke of Astwell and Ellen his wife, and their heirs, of his manor of Astwell Falcutt and Wappenham with all other lands, tenements, etc., etc., which they had by feofment of the said Arthur in the same, to be held of chief lord by the usual services. William and Dowce agree to grant Astwell manor with all lands, tenement, in Astwell, Falcutt and Wappenham to Thomas Lovet his heirs and assigns 2. Edmund Dorne and Margaret his wife and Thomas Lovet and Anne his wife, agree to grant to William Broke his heirs and assigns, the manors of Rushton and Great Oakley, with all lands tenements, etc., in Rushton, Great Oakley, Bulwick, Henwick (in Bulwick) Stanion, Newton, Weekley and Little Oakley, which were of Thomas Lovet 3. John son and heir of William and Douce shall marry Margaret dau., and heir of Thomas Lovet. 4. John Broke, and his heirs, is to enjoy the manors of Rushton and Great Oakley, and Rushton and other lands (except a life interest to Dowce). 5. Margaret his wife and her heirs to enjoy the manor of Astwell with its appurts.,

Agreement between Sir George Throkmorton and Dame Anne Danvers of Dauntsey (Wilts) and Thomas Lovet of Astwell, esq., that: 1. Thomas Lovet, jun., (cousin of T.Lovet of Astwell) shall marry Anne Throkmorton (dau., of Sir George). 2 T. Lovet of Astwell shall be guardian of same Thomas and Anne, and during the minority of Lovet jun., shall enjoy his property. 2. If Lovet sen., dies before L. jun., reaches his majority, the guardianship is to pass to Throkmorton. 4.The property of Thomas Lovet junior's father is to be conveyed to trustees for the use of his guardian during his minority, then to use of himself and Anne, being worth 40 marks annually, is to form Anne's jointure. 5. Certain lands and tenaments in Dorsington (Gloucs.,) to the annual value of £14 3s 4d and others in Faluctt and Wappenham to annual value of £25 16s. 8d are to be conveyed to trustees to very detailed uses (being, in outline, to Lovet sen., for life, then to L.jun., then to Anne) 6 After Lovet senior's decease lands in Newington (Oxon) and Dorsington (Gloucs.,) to form jointure for Anne, whereof Astwell manor shall also be part, are to pass to Lovet jun ., and L.sen's , other property to pass to Lovet jun. on death. 7. Throckmorton is to pay Lovet sen., £100. 8. Provision for marriages with other children if Lovett jun., or Anne die before Lovet jun's., majority.

Lovet sen., of Astwell esq., and: Richard Fermor of london, merchant of the staple of Callais, in consideration of a marriage between Thos. Lovet, jun., and Elizabeth Farmer, that: 1. Thos. Lovet shall convey to Humphrey Broun and others the manor of S.Newington and a yearly rent of £5 16s. from Dorsington manor and 10 marks yearly to be held to the use of Elizabeth, then to Thos.. Lovet, jun., and then to his heirs. 1. Thos. Lovet is to convey the residue of Dorsington manor and all other lands in Gloucs., to the yearly value of 20 marks, to be held to the use of Thomas L., sen., for life, then to Thos.L. jun., and Elizabeth, and then to heirs of Thos. Lovet sen., 2. After Thos.. Lovet's decease the manors of Astwell, Falcutt and Wappenham shall descend to Thomas Lovet jun., 4. All Thos. Lovet's land settled on his wife or future wives as jointure shall revert to Thos. Lovet junior. 5. Richard Fermor shall pay Thos.Lovet sen., 400 marks. 6. Richard Fermor shall receive the 40 marks (yearly part of the jointure) and provide for Thomas Lovet jun., to study at one of the Inns of Chancery for 2 years.

Agreement between Francis Shirley of Staunton Harold, esq., and Thomas Lovett of Astwell esq., in consid; of £400 and of a marriage between John Shirley son and heir of Francis and Jane Lovett, dau., and heiress of Thomas Lovett, that: 1. Thomas Lovett, John Shirley and Jane his wife and John Lovett (brother of Thomas) shall levy a fine unto William Mathew and Edmund Foster of the manors of Astwell and Falcutt with 7 messuages, 7 tofts, 3 mills, 1 dovecot, 14 gardens, 200 acres of land, 140 acres of meadow, 500 acres of pasture, 200 acres of wood, 300 acres of furze and heather, 10 acres of moor and 10 acres of marsh and fishing, and £10 rent in Astwell and Falcutt by which the property shall pass to Mathew and Foster and his heirs. 2. It is to be held to the use of Thomas Lovett during his life. After his death as much as is of the yearly value of £20 is to be to the use of the same Thomas's executors for 12 years towards the ex- cution of his will and after this the whole property is to be to the use of any future wife or wives of Thomas and after their death to his eldest son, then any other sons, then to the use of John and Jane afore- said and their heirs with reversion to heirs of Thomas. 3. If Thomas Lovett makes any leases of the same property for not more than 99 years at the accustomed (or greater) rents then Mathew and Foster shall be seised of the same and the terms of leases shall stand.
