Obituaries - Robert (Dick) Holton
1930 - 2002

Robert (Dick) Holton died on July 16th 2002 suddenly aged 72.

He was the youngest son of the late J E & M Holton of Abthorpe. He had many interests in his younger days, a keen footballer and played for several local teams.

He trained as an electrician and spent his national service in the R A F, spending time in the control tower during the Berlin airlift. On leaving the Air force he went into engineering and then retrained as an agricultural mechanic and plant fitter.

Dick worked for several years in Somerset and then on returning to Northamptonshire he worked for David Beecrofts Plant at Weston on the Green, until his retirement.

Dick married Olive Batchelor at Helmdon Church in 1956 and they had 46 wonderful years together. Dick was a much-loved husband and uncle.

Over the years Dick made and kept many friends, his kindness and ever-ready helping hand was appreciated by many.

Olive would like to thank her family for their unfailing and loving support and friends for their kindness, letters, cards and condolences at this very unhappy time.

Donations in Dick's memory have been sent to the C C Unit at Horton Hospital Banbury.
