Obituaries - Sue Gidman
1949 - 2002

Susan Foreman (Gidman) was born in Newbury in 1949, from where she moved to Thenford, with her family. Sue attended the village school at Marston St. Lawrence, then on to the Girls High School in Brackley.

After leaving Brackley High School, Sue moved to London, starting a career in advertising and in her spare time working at a local mental hospital. Sue eventually came back to the Banbury area where she continued her career in newspaper advertising. Sue still had a calling to help people so started her training as a nurse for mental patients at Warwick.

In 1984 Sue and Bill were married and promptly moved to Bahrain. This was eventually followed by the arrival of William Robert in 1986, James Michael and Victoria Louise in 1989.

In 1990 Sue returned to England and settled in Falcutt with her very young family, this excludes Bill because he's ancient!

Sue had always had a calling to help other people, be they sick, troubled or just unlucky, often to the detriment of her own health and pocket. In Helmdon, as was the same where-ever Sue resided, there are several people and families old and young alike; who have had the benefit of Sue's friendship and help. Sue could always see the good in somebody, even when everyone else said differently. Sue's charm and kindness will be greatly missed by all those who were lucky enough to know her.

Bill, William, Victoria and James would like to thank everybody for their sympathy and support, as this has been a great comfort to the family. It is through Sue that everybody has shown their support by the very generous donations made which approached £900 to be shared between 'The Friends of St. Mary Magdalene' and 'Cancer Research UK'.

Particular thanks must go to the unsung heroes at the Reading Room for the wonderful tea that was laid on, and people who supplied the food. Thank you all.

Bill Gidman
