Hi, well first off, what a fantastic website you guys have. Well done! Very informative. I've recently had my family tree finished and this is where it lead me to, and I found ancestors in your graveyard, several of them!!! Crikey. So well done to whoever took the time to log all the headstones.
So i'll cut to the chase and tell you who they are, and if anyone out there thinks they're related or has any other info please do not hesitate to contact me. Ea 1 (Headstone) P.R.642. 1871 Mary Jeffery April 21st age 78 P.R.661 1872 Edward Jeffery Nov 10th age 79 Edward was born 1794 in Wappenham and the address I have is 'The Cross Inn' Mary his wife was born 1793 and I do not have a surname for her. Any help??? Next Be 2 (Headstone) P.R.194. 1911 Susannah Jeffrey Helmdon Oct 24th age 76 P.R.275 1923 Edward John Jeffery Helmdon Sept 30th age 89 Edward John Jeffery born 1834 in Helmdon is the son of Edward above. Susannah Jeffery formerly Craddock born 1834 was also born in Helmdon. Checked to see if any Craddocks where buried in the church yard but couldn't see any. It seems that Edward and Susannah had 9 girls!!! Brave man, but it looks as though some of these did not survive to their childhood as some name disappear from the census. Their children were, Susannah, Ann Elizabeth, Sarah Harriet, Emma, Lucy Laura, Clara, Martha E, Alica A and Florence J. On the 1901 census some of the above are resident at Wappenham Road. Listed below could be possible candidates for ancestors, but I have nothing tangible, could anyone help me??? Gf 4 (Kerbstone) P.R.452. 1947 Arthur Edward Jeffery Helmdon Jan 21st age 81 P.R.402. 1954 William Henry Jeffery Wappenham Rd. Helmdon July 31st age 83 Gg 6 (Headstone) P.R.476. 1950 Mary Ann Jeffery Wappenham Rd. Helmdon Nov 23rd age 81 P.R.513. 1956 Agnes Lucy Jeffery Field View, Marston St. Lawrence June 23rd age 80 The name Jeffrey links into the maternal side of the family tree. My great grandfather Frank Anthoney Chester of Blisworth married Alice Amelia Jeffrey 20 March 1894 at Register Office, Towcester. It was Alice's father who was Edward J Jeffrey married to Susannah Craddock. Frank Anthony Chester's father Frederick Chester married a Lucy Mayo born 1843 in Towcester. Her father was a George Mayo born 1804 in Silverstone Wondering if the Chester or Mayo named in your churchyard are related to any of the names above. Please do not hesitate to contact me as i'm finding this all rather intriguing. Next time I'm passing through Northampton I will certainly make a stop off and have a mooch round. Feel free for this to be read out at church, the more people that see this the better. Briefly about myself, born April 1963 in Lytham Lancashire. Travelled around, qualified as a hairdresser, had 2 gorgeous girls, moved to North Cyprus for 3 years and am now settled in Canterbury City within the City walls and studying to be a Home Inspector.
Once again keep up the good work with this invaluable web site.
