Some of the wonderful ceramics on display |
The village was treated to an extraordinary display of arts and crafts
in the church on Saturday 9th November 2002. The day was organised
by Louise Stothard who wanted talented people in the village to be
able to show off their work.
Artforms included ceramics, calligraphy, needlework, tapestry,
music, modelling and carpentry and the standard really was exceptional.
Over 40 individual villagers displayed their works.
"There is so much talent in the village" said Louise,
"I wanted everyone to be able to see it".

The WI provided tea and lunches throughout the day to keep visitors
refreshed and, as well as providing a shop window for the village's
talents, the event also raised a welcome £95 for charity,
the main beneficiary of which will be DEBRA
UK, the national charity working on behalf of people with the
genetic skin blistering condition, Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB).
Louise hopes to run another Art & Craft day in 2004.
