NEW LAWS FOR

DOG OWNERS

South Northamptonshire Council is consulting on new powers that would apply to dog owners.  These would require  dog owners to

• Clear up when a dog has fouled
• Keep dogs on a lead in some area
• Keep dogs out of some areas
• Put  a dog on a lead by direction

There is a statutory period from 11th August 2008 to 30th September 2008 for the authority

to receive representation on the proposed dog orders.  These can be made to South Northamptonshire Council by either writing to Environmental Protection, South Northamptonshire Council, Springfields, Towcester, Northants NN12 6AE or emailing dogcontrolwarden@southnorthants.gov.uk
