Helmdon Parish Plan

WHAT?

The Helmdon Parish Plan aims to identify the current and future needs of the village by giving everyone an opportunity to express their thoughts, opinions and ideas.

Working out how to meet these needs together means us having an action plan for the future.

WHERE?

The plan will cover the Parish of Helmdon; approximately 350 properties and 950 residents including Astwell, Falcutt and all outlying farms and properties.

WHEN?

The funding we have received is for 2003/2004. The timetable depends to a certain extent on how detailed the plan is, and how many people get involved in helping out. The aim is to present the final plan to the village by the middle of 2004.

WHO?

Everyone in the village that wants to take part will be given an opportunity to do so. Whether it is taking an active role on the steering committee, filling in a questionnaire, or making tea at a public meeting, everyone has a contribution to make.

The funding Helmdon has received from the Countryside Agency will be channelled through the Parish Council who will work closely with South Northants Council and Northamptonshire ACRE (Action with Communities in Rural England) to ensure the smooth running of the process.

HOW?

The key to putting the plan together is public consultation.

Everyone will have a chance to have their say at open meetings and by filling in questionnaires. The more people that contribute their ideas, the more representative the plan will be of the whole village.

A steering committee has been formed to co-ordinate everyone's efforts throughout the year, and various groups have been set up to work on the specific issues that are identified through consultation.
