Have a say on Priorities
Residents in Helmdon are being asked to give their views
on the current and future needs of their village.
Their views and opinions are being sought as part of community-wide
consultation day to be held at Helmdon School on Saturday,
August 2.
Daventry MP Tim Boswell, Northamptonshire county councillor
James Shepherd-Cross, and other local dignitaries will join
village residents on the day.
The three times winner and current holders of the prestigious
title of Northamptonshire Village of the Year, Helmdon has
recently been granted funding from the Countryside Agency's
Vital Villages Programme, which is sponsored by South Northamptonshire
Council and Northamptonshire ACRE, to carry out a parish
plane.
The parish plan is intended to ascertain the future needs
of the village and the aim of the Future Needs Day is to
gain views, thoughts, concerns and ideas on topics, ranging
from youth, transport amenities, housing and development,
environment and culture.
After the day the parish plan will continue with a village-wide
questionnaire which will give everyone the opportunity to
give written comments on a whole range of issues affecting
a rural community in the twenty first century.
For more information on the Future Needs Day, e-mail the
chairman of the Helmdon parish plan, Danny Moody on dmoody@btinternet.com
