Questions On Future Of Village
by Julian Dancer
Villagers are being asked to take part in a survey that could
decide the future of their community.
Residents of Helmdon will be able to make their thoughts and
views known by completing a questionnaire as part of their
Parish Plan.
The survey will be the second stage of public consultation
following a successful Future Needs Day last summer when residents
attended an exhibition at the village school and were invited
to identify issues that were important to them. Based on that
information the Helmdon Parish Plan Steering Group put together
the questionnaire, which was distributed at the weekend.
Danny Moody, chairman of the steering group, said: "Every
resident of the parish should complete the questionnaire.
"We would like the results to be as representative as
possible, and if we can get a more than 90% response that
would be really great.
"The results of the survey will be presented to the village
in a public meeting later in the year.
Parish Plans are part of the Government's Vital Villages programme,
and Helmdon was awarded a £4,000 grant last year by
South Northamptonshire District Council to cover the costs
of drawing up its plan.
