Danger Status for Road

Another road in the Banbury area has been added to Northamptonshire's list of the most hazardous in the county.

The Brackley to Helmdon route was added to the Red Route list because there have been six incidents in which people were killed or seriously injured in the past three years.

The A361 Banbury to Daventry route remains on the list. It has had eight serious or fatal incidents in the past three years;

Elsewhere in the county 27 of the roads classified as Red Routes have been taken off the list following an improvement in their records.

Engineering, education and enforcement techniques are used to improve accident rates of Red Route roads.
