Money For Parish Plans
Other communities in South Northants could benefit from a
new scheme which helped Wicken create much-needed facilities.
The village scooped more than £1,500 from a pot of cash
made available by the Department of the Environment, Food
and Rural Affairs.
Some parishes have been awarded more from the Parish Plans
fund including Syresham with £5,000 and Helmdon with
£4,000.
The idea is for each parish hoping to win an award to come
up with a blueprint of what it needs.
This will then be assessed and if feasible could scoop some
cash.Wicken chose to spend its cash to help build a new village
hall and introduce a website. The village's 30mph signs were
also moved to extend the restriction.
