Chapel to Stay
A request to demolish an unsafe 19th century chapel and replace
it with two houses has been denied.
The application to knock down Helmdon Chapel, made by Tove
Valley Baptist Fellowship, has been refused by South Northamptonshire
District Council.
Councillors said it would mean the loss of a community facility
and be detrimental to the character of the village.
The chapel was deemed unsafe last year and subsequently closed
as a place of worship.
