A right royal time for village school
Royalty descended on a primary school to celebrate
the Queen's 80th birthday.
Children and teachers at Helmdon Primary School dressed for
the occasion by wearing a king or queen costume, or sporting
red, white and blue clothes.
At midday pupils hoisted the Union Jack outside and sang the
national anthem, joined by Daventry MP Tim Boswell who was
visiting the school at the time. Bursar Judith Wait dressed
as the queen herself complete with a soft toy corgi (the Queen's
favourite pet).
She said: "Everybody entered into the spirit of it and
had a great time. All 130 children looked fab in their outfits."
