Hamster Returns
Phoebe the hamster who was abducted from a Helmdon
home last week has been returned much to the delight of her
owner.
She was taken during a birthday party for 16-year-old Emma
Griffiths on Saturday, April 29 and actually belonged to Emma's
younger sister Rosie, 11.
Some of the other items stolen during the burglary have also
been returned including the watch given to Emma for her birthday.
Mum Sally Gordon said: "Rosie's absolutely over the moon.
"The police were really great, they rang us up to ask
us to confirm details of the cage and what she looked like
before returning her.
"They were going to ring us before arriving but instead
they just turned up and surprised us."
Phoebe was reunited with Rosie on Wednesday, May 10, after
she was recovered from an address in Banbury at about 9.30pm.
Officers who recovered Phoebe said she had been well looked
after and the person had become attached to the hamster after
receiving her as a present.
A second address in Banbury was also searched in connection
with the theft where further property was recovered.
No one has been arrested in connection with this incident
at this stage.
