A Headteacher has moved on after eight years at a village school.
Susan Blackburn has moved from Helmdon Primary to a school in Ironbridge, Shropshire. She said: “It has been a wonderful first headship and I hope whoever takes over will be as happy as I have been. It is a wonderful school with a fantastic team. The parents are very supportive and the children are delightful. It is like being part of a big family.
“The children do so much to help in the school.”
Governors put on a surprise party for her last month and pupils said goodbye by organising a farewell assembly featuring poems and songs about events in school.
Sue Deane is acting head until a permanent replacement is found.
