Carnival Cash Goes To Good Causes

Good causes in the Helmdon area have benefited from money raised at this year's village carnival.

The event, which was held in the village during the August bank holiday, raised a total of £2,900.

This has now been split between Brackley Cottage Hospital which received £800, Helmdon Sports Club which received £850, Helmdon Reading Rooms which also received £850, the Friends of Helmdon School which received £250 and the village Acorns group which received £150.

Simon Oakley, chairman of the Helmdon Carnival Committee, said preparations for next year's event were now underway.

A meeting of the committee is due to be held on January 21.
