Carnival Enjoys Its Silver Jubilee

Helmdon Carnival was one of the few beneficiaries of a poor summer according to organisers.

Even secretary John Coatsworth said some folk had most likely attended after weeks “looking out of their windows at the rain”.

And he said numbers for this, the carnival’s silver jubilee, were up on last year although final figures were not yet known.

John said: ”It went very well, we were fortunate of course to have good weather so we had a good attendance.”
