The Helmdon Parent Teacher Association, known as The Friends of Helmdon
School (FOHS), is well supported by parents, teachers and other staff.
All parents of children at the school are automatically members, and
are encouraged to attend meetings and to contribute ideas for fundraising
and to lend a hand in supporting the many fundraising activities held
throughout the year. A regular newsletter keeps everyone up to date.
FOHS is a registered charity. Its objective is to raise funds for
the purchase of essential school equipment, and to provide the "extras"
that cannot be catered for within the school's budget. In the last
few years these have included whiteboards, a variety of musical instruments,
funds towards extending the top playground, extra books, leaving presents
for Year 6 pupils, and the children's Christmas party.
Funds are also available to provide refreshments for special events
such as Open Evenings and for Sports Day. |
