Message from the Editor -

Please accept my apologies for the non-appearance of issue 47 of Helmdon Talkabout during 2009.  Good intentions occasionally get thwarted, and various issues conspired against mine last year.

Thank you for your patience, and for the rewrites that some contributors provided in the autumn.  Alas, the material is now well out of date so publication at this time seems ill-advised.

I propose to have issue 47 printed for distribution early in April this year.  For that I need new articles and up-to-date adverts by the last day of February, so please let me have yours in good time.  It will help the editing process if you supply your article as a straight-forward typed word document attached to an email, and leave the layout to me.  Any adverts, photos or logos should come as a jpeg in a separate attachment please.

Our publisher, Paul Stothard, resigned last September and we do not have a replacement yet, so I cannot tell you who will deal with the advertising; but someone will be in touch to tidy up arrangements with our supportive advertisers.  Meanwhile, if you have any advertising queries please send them to me and will pass them on.  I am aware that there are some which Paul already had for issue 47, and these will be honoured, but let me know if you require any changes.

Autumn Talkabout 2009  - posted 31st July 2009

Regretfully, for various reasons, it was not possible to publish the Spring Takabout.

Contributions for the Autumn Talkabout are now being asked for, and articles, etc., for inclusion should be with me by 24th August.

I am pleased to say that Philippa King is now helping me with the task.

Note from the new editor - 2nd April 2008

The former editor and publisher have developed a good system and set of guidelines, which include well rehearsed deadlines for advertisers and contributors; I think it not a good idea to make changes to the routines at this stage by trying to publish a May/June issue, and would therefore prefer to get ready for an Autumn 2008 issue with its 24th August/1st September deadlines.

A new editor and publisher have been appointed.
