The pre-school is run by a voluntary committee of parents. Anyone wishing to join can contact any member of the committee.

Our policy document* contains the full terms and conditions of the pre-school as well as our aims and objectives. We are registered with and inspected by OFSTED.

OUTDOOR PLAY

Due to the location of the Reading Room we do not have an outdoor play area for Acorns. As a result in early 2004 Acorns was awarded a significant grant to develop an alternative site, the allotment. This has been going from strength to strength over the past 2 years and now has a shed to house the equipment and has been fenced in. The children have grown a variety of produce over the past year which they can then take home to eat.

ACTIVITIES

Over the past year the pre-school has held a Halloween messy morning, Easter Duck Hunt that involved the whole village, a trip to the Eco Park at Milton Keynes (click for picture), Christmas concert and a sports day. All these events allow parents and carers to take part in activities with their children. In addition parents are able to attend pre-school sessions as a parent-helper, an excellent way for children and their parents to interact in a new environment.
